FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Need to Know
HOW IS BLIND GOLF PLAYED
The rules of golf are the same for blind golfers with one exception, a blind golfer can ground his/her club in a hazzard.
Blind golfers need a guide/caddie to help with course management, club selection, direction, placing the club correctly behind the ball and of course, locating the ball after it has been struck.
DOES THE GUIDE HAVE TO BE A GOLFER
Idealistically, a guide would be a golfer, but it is by no means essential. Golf is pretty straightforward with some not so obvious rules and etiquette that can be learned along the way.
WHO CAN PLAY BLIND GOLF
If you are unable to play golf independently , then you will be welcome at NIBGA. Under International Blind Golf rules, sight classifications are used to grade the golfers into 3 categories. At NIBGA local competitions, we try to keep things more relaxed and focus on enjoying golf and the company.
